Shadow, a black cat familiar, is tasked by her witch with retrieving a rare herb that she needs for her next potion, and she sets out on a journey through the enchanted wood. Her determination and cunning guide her through the darkness.

Encountering another familiar, sent to retrieve the same rare herb, she must use her wit and agility to outmaneuver it to retrieve protect the precious herb.

After a difficult journey, and many perils, Shadow returns to the cottage with the herb in hand (or rather, paw). Her witch accepts the herb and finishes her potion. Shadow goes to her bed, content.
